Hi Everyone,

Figured I'd ask in the forums 1st before contacting DEAN directly.  Does anyone know if there are any
gotcha's with Dean's code running if the installation is updated from MySQL v4 to MySQL v5??

Actually, I rolled up my sleeves and solved the problem my self.  I created a script which works directly with the ListMailPro script and removes ALL bad emails -- you just have to specify all those bad emails in a text file which it then parses and removes ALL instances from ListMailPro.

Dean -- are you interested in this ? It works... and it's really fast...

Maybe you could sell it as an add-on to your members...

p.s. If Dean's not interested -- anyone else... contact me for a personal license.

Hi Dean,

I wonder is it possible to dealt multiple email users with a  drop down box
which allows the user to paste into the List Box all the emails to be removed
from the system on ALL lists?

If not... Sure would be nice.  Or at least the ability to delete an email completely
from the system with one operation.  Is this doable?  How hard would this feature
be to add to 1.88 ?

General Help & How-To / Easiest way to clean an OLD Mailing List
« on: September 07, 2011, 09:22:58 am »
Hi Everyone,

On one of my lists that I have not mailed in a while is quite large. When I sent out
a mailing in the past month I got over 100K permanent email errors -- but it looks
like those emails HAVE NOT BEEN REMOVED off my list.

Not sure what is amiss...

Isn't the script suppose to remove IMMEDIATELTY from all lists any email that comes
back  with a permanent email error?

I notice some of the emails are on multiple lists and need to be removed, but the
question is what is the best way to do this...

Manually remove them ONE-BY-ONE -- real pain would take FOREVER....

or some other way.

Suggestions ..

Christopher

Hi Dean,

I have a problem that maybe you can handle. I load up in a list that I define in ListMailPro a bunch of leads that I get from a service.  The leads from what I can tell are pretty bad --- 50% of all leads are immediately bounced back as permanent errors (i.e. BAD EMAILS).  Now my question is simple... does ListMailPro remove these emails from the current send list instead of still sending follow up emails to BAD emails which looks really really bad.

I know that the emails are BAD because I get the emails returned via EXIM to the return email address that I specify from the sender and then you thunderbird to filter which emails are PERMANET vs. delayed, etc. etc.

What would be really helpful and I mean really helpful is to find a work-around *fix* in the current version of ListMailPro where by bounced emails could be processed by ListMailPro,

For example... List 60 -- has an email account setup for processing bad emails sent off this list.
When you invoke this function on ListMailPro it would download the emails and filter and process all the permanent emails against the list which is queued up (when looking for an opt-in confirmation -- double confirmation for example or even single confirmation for that matter) - that way bad emails are removed immediately and never get a follow up email sent.
That way ONLY VALID follow-up emails are sent to currently valid emails at least as far as the most simple test runs.

Is this a feature you could create without too much fuss ? (Each list would have as an option the ability to process bad emails immediately by specifying the email sent off that list.)

Let me know...

General Help & How-To / Can You Expound on That...
« on: July 05, 2009, 08:12:17 pm »
Hi j.m.nunes10,

I previously asked if say some one joins your list via another autoresponder system to automatically add them to a ListMailPro list.  You replied with a very VAGUE response...

Sure would appreciate a bit more details as that wasn't enough for me to resolve my question at all.

Thanks

Christopher

Hi folks,

I realize Dean Wiebe probably will never read this, but hopefully the army of ListMail Pro fans will.  I'm wondering about one thing...

Can the current version of ListMail Pro allow:

one to send emails to it, to signup? The reason why I ask is I have other programs I am trying to integrate with ListMail Pro. It captures the customer's information including email and I would simply like to then add that customer automatically to an autoresponder on ListMail Pro.

Anyone who knows the answer to this I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,

Christopher

General Help & How-To / Actually Yes...

Hi,

I read your  post about emails being sent and trying to control the lengths of lines.  What I've done to address this issue is simple.

I  use a utility which  takes my text message and automatically adds a soft return to the text  depending on the length I request. Then I simply  copy and paste it into LMP  to send.

Unfortunately you  have to do it for every message you want to send.

Hey Dean,

Need focus? Here's a video created by Paul Evans which I thought might
actually help you and everyone else ...

Hi Dean,

I know it's been almost a year since I last posted. But I have to ask, when will the NEW VERSION of ListMailPro be in a usable state for testing at least... if not for the masses to work out the rest of the bugs ?

Christopher

p.s. Any functional version would be great. May have bugs.. but that ok. What software doesn't have bugs ...

Hi Dean,

In regards to sending a broadcast out to my lists I'm not sure what to make of this. It seems the emails instead of being directly delivered instead end up in the MESSAGE QUEUE for the server.  In that queue are the emails as well as bounced emails and I'm wondering this is normal ?

General Help & How-To / Bounce Setup so it works...
« on: December 21, 2007, 01:02:18 pm »
Hi Dean,

I tried sending some broadcasts to my lists recently and something in regards to bounce processing is not quite right.

I only checked the 2nd option bounce.cgi and setup a cron job to execute
the dailymail.php once a day.  Do I need to check the 3rd option as well.

When I tried running dailymail.php manually it looks like it's going thru
the paces but no emails are removed and I know I got some bounces.

A bit frustrated...

Christopher

p.s. About 2 months ago I migrated all my sites to another dedicated
server thus the issues with ListMailPro.  Something is not quite right.

General Help & How-To / Next Update or Release
« on: August 18, 2007, 07:00:48 am »
Hi Dean,

I read with great interest your most recent post. Glad to know you've mastered various aspects of PHP, AJAX and other stuff.  I noticed that it was sometime earlier this year that you stated you were back FULL Steam on working on the next update...

Might I add a word of "wisdom".  Don't shoot for perfectism but excellence. Incremental change updates would be best. Otherwise, you'll never ship the next version.

Been there ... done that...

Can't wait to see what you have in store for 2.0 -- I'm sure it will be a winner.

Development, Suggestions / Choose time of day for sending
« on: July 11, 2007, 05:10:52 am »
Hi Dean,

You stated back in March 2007

I keep tossing this idea around every so often myself. I do see the benefit. It's coming...

WELL.... this is in regards to setting an actual TIME on Scheduled Mailings.

What sort of coaxing will it take to get this really cool feature added ? Is it really that complicated or what ?

Please advise....

Would love to see this ASAP!!

Christopher  :)
