Hi Dean,

The "'Smart' followup and user seq # renumbering" feature seems to be buggy now :( ...as of 1.86b (I think).

It doesn't always work when inserting followup emails "between" followups.  Sometimes (50% of the time for me) you get a "ghost like" double followup.  Where the followup has the same sequence number but the delay number is greyed out...not sure what is happening.

I use this feature all the time and love it...when it is working :)

Thanks for listening.

General Help & How-To / Sending Only 1 Email at a time????
« on: June 14, 2006, 09:14:25 am »
Dean,

My hosting company just updated all their servers and migrated my account to another server.  In doing so, I guess some parameter has changed that now only allows 1email to be sent out at a time.

My "Dailymail" cron-task was run but stopped after 1 email and every time I resume Dailymail, only 1 more email is sent.  Do you have any idea what I should change or be looking for that would cause such a problem :?:

Thanks for any help!

General Help & How-To / The Best Host for ListMail???
« on: March 05, 2006, 09:42:09 am »
Hi Everyone,

At this point what hosting company seems to be the best fit for ListMail.  "My list" at this time does NOT exceed 2000 users...But I want to be ready as the user list grows. These are the main factors that I am determining my decision on:

1) Reliability
2) Price
3) Email Limit Per Hour
4) Email Limit Per 24hour period

Anybody want to add anything or have any suggestions...

Thanks,

Don

Hi Dean,

Everything is going really well with the latest release, 1.85

I wanted to know if there was a way or if it has already been suggested to have followups delayed by "total days".  Another words, when you put a delay of 31 it will always be delayed 31 days from the initial start date.  If you have a delay of 60 it would always be 60 days after initial start date, not after previous "followup" date...so on and so on.  So the first year followup would be a delay of 365. (leap years not that important right now)

This is very usable when you are sending out emails based on an individuals sign up (or input) date.  I want to be able to schedule quarterly, yearly etc followups but if I decide to put a followup somewhere in between other dates, I would not want the other followups to change their place in the sequence.

I hope you understand what I am asking and I am not sure if this can already be done or has already been requested...

Thanks and Happy New Year!

General Help & How-To / Testing Mail SMTP error code question...
« on: October 12, 2005, 03:29:12 pm »
Hi Dean,

I just started receiving a new error today which has halted all of my emails.  I have been using ListMailPro for years without this problem.

Quote
[SMTP Server]
Is enabled? Yes
Connecting to SMTP server.. Connected!
Could not say EHLO.

The SMTP server is not configured correctly. Check your settings.

I searched the forum and found one post but it was not much help:
http://listmailpro.com/forum/index.php?topic=191.0

Now my Dailymail is stuck "in the outgoing queue."

I can send a "preview" email from the "Send an Email" page...but that even seems to take longer than usual..but it does get sent. But I cannot send an instant email to a list from the "Send an Email" page...I just get the same error.

Can you explain what may be causing this error?  Why would this suddenly happen today?  Where do I look to correct the problem?

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Customization, Integration / Custom Scripts added????
« on: September 26, 2005, 11:18:38 am »
Hi Dean,

I am curious...When you write custom scripts for your clients, and they give their approval to give it to others...will you be integrating these scripts "into" the program?

I  would really like as many features available as possible implemented into the program without having to customize myself and I would imagine others feel the same.

You might already be doing this but I just wanted to ask to make sure :)

Thanks...

General Help & How-To / Import Error ???
« on: September 21, 2005, 08:40:23 am »
Hi Dean,

I started receiving this error recently when trying to import a CSV file to ListMail:

"Warning: fopen(/tmp/4dedb662f.tmp): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/d/mydomain/htdocs/mail/edituser.php on line 558"

Any idea how to fix this so I can import a CSV file?  It has been working fine for the last couple of years until recently.

Thanks,

Don

General Help & How-To / New error with "Send an Email"
« on: September 05, 2005, 11:21:52 am »
Hello,

I have just started receiving a new error with "Send an Email".  I am currently using the latest version 1.84 of ListMailPro. I am not quite sure when this started since I do not use the "Send an Email" feature that often...but I do use it a few times a month and I think it has only started since the upgrade to 1.84.

Here is the error I am receiving whenever I try and use "Send an Email"  and then "Send this message" from the Send an Email page.

"Please wait while email is queued to send... Can't open file: 'lm_sendq.MYI' (errno: 144)"

Then nothing else happens and no message is sent.  There is no "resume" or "cancel" buttons available either.  I have tried sending from different lists with the same results.

If I use preview, the message is sent like usual, no problem.

My Dailymail is also working fine...no problems there.

Any ideas what could be causing this to happen?  Is it just my setup or is it a bug in the software?

Thanks,

Don

Development, Suggestions / Followups and sequences
« on: July 31, 2005, 02:24:40 am »

This allows you to delete messages in sequence without re-numbering. I still haven't been able to allow you to ADD followups this way, though.

Hi Dean,

I am not quite sure what you are referring to exactly...BUT...

I would like to be able to ADD followups BETWEEN existing followups.  For example, let's say I have a list with 50 followup emails already written and sequenced.  But now I found a way to improve the effectiveness of my marketing with a "new and improved-added" followup.

I want to add this followup "between" sequence numbers 25 and 26, sort of 25a...is there a way to do  this right now...or will there be a way soon?

I do not want to REPLACE a followup, I want to add to an existing series.

Thanks for any help!

General Help & How-To / Can you "Pause" Listmail's Dailymail
« on: January 15, 2005, 12:26:10 pm »
Hello,

Is there a way to "pause" Listmail's Dailymail globally? I do not want to send out emails for a week but I also do not want to advance anyone in my database meaning I want to "pause" my clients place in the users sequence and delay.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for any help.

General Help & How-To / I am receiving 3 Dailymail reports each day!!
« on: January 13, 2005, 08:22:06 am »
Hello,

This just started yesterday.  I started receiving 3 Dailymail reports and all of them had different results but each had been run (timestamped) at the same time.  Does this mean that my Dailymail is going out 3 times?

How or why would this start happening.  I monitor my Dailymail report everyday and this just started happening yesterday...I have not made any changes in any files other than adding a few names to one database.

Any suggestions?  I need to get this resolved ASAP!   I do not want to look like "spam" to my clients...  Thanks.

Hello,

I have been having problems with my Dailymail.  When I log into "Listmail"  I get the following message:

Attention: You have items in the outgoing queue. Some mailings may be in progress.

Type: Dailymail
Subject:  N/A

I then hit the "resume" button and I get the error:

Sending error. Check your mail settings.

Server said: 554 Error: no valid recipients.

There is a "Go To Config"  button, so I click on that.  When I get to the "General Configuration", everything looks correct.

I have already tried sending an instant email (send mail) to my main list...and everything works fine and all the emails are sent.

Any ideas what is going wrong?  It makes me very nervous that my clients are not recieving my emails.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.
