Dean, want to sell Listmail?

Dean,

Didn't really want to post in the forums but had no choice, hope you read this...

I still love listmail and use it every day.  I'll make it quick, would you be interested in selling Listmail?

Mike,

I see you're still around - great!  You and I have been using LMP for over 5 years now...

It's the same for me, have you heard anything at all from Dean on this? I'd be interested also in further development, and providing add-ons, etc...

Keep me posted,
Thanks,
-Brett

Yea I'm still here, been using Listmail since October 2003 so almost 6 years now.

I  have old emails between me and Dean from back then where I helped him speed up the program sending.

Unfortunately I haven't heard a word from him since he seems to have disappeared.  He must be around somewhat tho as the sites seem to be down one day and up the next.  Sad really, I hope and wish Dean all the best.

Hey Mike,

> I have old emails between me and Dean from back then where I helped him speed up the program sending.

I remember when this came up for my own server. I know you have some fast sending times, how much would it cost me to move to a faster server integration?

Right now I'm on VPS and I can get about 5,000 - 6,000/hour but I'd like to get to about 10,000 hour.  Is this all related to the integration? I currently have throttling on and I know we discussed that at one point, but if I do not throttle I get lower click rates, which tells me that people are not getting through...   do I have to go completely dedicated and then work some kind of magic on the server itself, or are there some patches you know of that can be applied to get there?
Thanks,
-Brett

I wanted to chime in here too.

I started using LMP in 2002. I still check into this forum occasionally just to see if there is any news on Dean. He and I used to converse regularly.

LMP still has a nice set of features. But, for it to move forward, a lot of the code needs an overhaul. I think it's got a lot of old, legacy code that occurred during its long history. I still use LMP and make modifications as I need them, but I can't recommend it to new people anymore since Dean is AWOL. It may be a dead end. :(

Yeah, you're probably right... too bad, I use LMP quite a bit and enjoy it... well, I guess we'll all have to say goodbye to LMP, but for now it lives on... at least for a little while longer.
Thanks,

Well as for speed, I'm doing most on a medium end VPS and getting around 10K.  It's only that slow due to Domain Keys and DKIM signing, which really slow things down a lot but are a big plus in this day/age.  I really trimmed my main list down a lot and don't need huge numbers per hour anymore...

I have another program to use... but I still like listmail for ease and simplicity...  I've also considered creating a combination and selling it on my own, etc... but I don't know how well it would do.

What's weird with Dean is he still has to be around as I still see his Paid google ads running, so he must be making money still?  I hope he's ok also, a quick message from him would be awesome.
