Email Piping -- local delivery failed
« on: August 02, 2005, 11:37:47 pm »
I am trying to setup my forwarders to go to the right place:

|/home/xxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/signup-list4.cgi

but every time I get a fail message like this:

pipe to |/home/xxxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/signup-list4.cgi
generated by success@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com
local delivery failed

But I cannot figure out why? The testing works fine but not the autoresponders. I have checked the permissions and they are all set to 0755.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Bump!

I'm getting this same problem... I've gone over the setup instructions many times, and I can't figure out why this isn't working.  Anyone have any suggestions?

On some servers a pipe is not possible, or the path is different, due to server configuration.  The fastest way could be to ask your host how it's done on your server.

You may want to try adding "/usr/bin/perl" to the command-line, ie:

|/usr/bin/perl /home/xxxxx/public_html/cgi-bin/signup-list4.cgi

Also make sure there are no trailing spaces, etc.
