General Help & How-To / PHP 7.4?
« on: October 10, 2021, 10:24:51 pm »
Hi DW,

Given PHP 7.2 is EOL at the end of November, I'm posting to see if we can continue to use ListMail. Quite frankly, I know that I and others would be happy to pay for a subscription to be able to handle sending mail from our own servers. We have a list that is 30,000+ so going with a commercial service is going to be not only costly for us, but will require us to re-verify every one of our customers.

Have you tested ListMail Pro on more recent PHP versions and do they work?

Thank you,

MB

General Help & How-To / Re: Schedualed emails stop sending
« on: July 15, 2021, 12:44:43 pm »
Since my last post, every time we run a campaign whether scheduled or manual, the mailing stops after a few thousand are sent, leaving us to babysit the mailing until it is complete. I am guessing that ListMail Pro is abandonware at this point, but I thought I would try and see if any advice could be offered on something to check. We run our own bare metal server so it's not like the web host is the issue here.

General Help & How-To / Schedualed emails stop sending
« on: April 05, 2021, 01:49:51 pm »
Recently we've been having an issue where, with the last 3 scheduled campaigns, ListMail's cron job would run, send some of the emails and then stop. The amount of emails sent before it stops is inconsistent. It has varied from 1/4 of the list to half the list before stopping.

There is a notice upon logging into the Admin CP, under the ListMail logo that ListMail "seems to be failing". However, there are no errors being reported in the Exim logs to indicate what is causing it. We have not, to my knowledge updated anything on the server or changed any settings prior to this happening. It seems to have started at the beginning of March, 2021 and continues.

We click the "Resume" button and it will stop again after sending to a few more thousand, and then repeat this until the mailing is complete (about 40k subscribers).

There does not seem to be anything in the ListMail logs either to indicate what might be happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

For a while now we've had an issue where after Daily Mail runs and purges the bounced email it finds, the subject for all emails contain the same email address (maybe the first one that List Mail detected bouncing?). However, when you go down into the contents of the email error, the email address that is actually bouncing is different.

For example:

Subject: 'List 3: Bouncing User Removed - sender@emaildomain.com.ar' (where 'sender' and 'emaildomain' replaces the actual sender and domain for privacy reasons).

'A user has been removed from your list: My List Name

Their information was as follows:

Email: sender@emaildomain.com.ar'

....and then down further in the bounced email error message....

'X-Failed-Recipients: sender@domain.biz' (the actual email that was bouncing, not what was in the subject or Email: fields above this'

'>   sender@domain.biz
>     host mx5.domain.biz [174.138.100.188]
>     SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<sender@domain.biz>:
>     552 Mailbox limit exeeded for this email address'

Why is this happening and how to I fix it?

General Help & How-To / PHP 7.2?

Hi DW

Since PHP 7.1 is EOL this month I'm wondering if PHP 7.2 is supported. I really don't want to switch to another mailer. Thank you for your continued support.

Development, Suggestions / Unsubscribe Headers?
« on: July 27, 2018, 11:56:25 am »
I'm posting this as a long-shot, given the activity here has been sparse and replies are few and far between.

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure ListMailPro to send unsubscribe headers? This may help us with providers who are automatically blocking us because they aren't detecting an unsubscribe link (even though we've included it in every email). Now with GDPR implemented we're seeing a rise in rejected email.

Thank you,

MB

We have Open SSL v1.2 installed due to security upgrades and shutting off insecure cipher suites and it appears that ListMail Pro cannot connect to SSH any longer as a result. I'm now getting the following error:

"TLS error on connection from [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:48106 (SSL_accept): error:140760FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:unknown protocol"

We cannot send mail without authentication any longer so sending plaintext is not an option. Does ListMail not yet support Open SSL v1.2?

General Help & How-To / Re: PHP 70 upgrade

Thank you! This will save us from moving to Mailchimp or other cloud-based solution! So happy you are still supporting ListMailPro because it is, by far the best-hosted solution available IMHO. We've relied on it heavily since early 2000's.

PHP 7 is a significant upgrade from previous versions. I doubt very seriously that ListMailPro will work with it. It's unfortunate because everything PHP is transitioning there and I will be forced to abandon ListMailPro for another solution (also unfortunate because my list is over 30,000 and that spells pricey for MailChimp and Constant Contact). Hopefully, you'll get a reply, but given you've posted this almost 2 months ago... can't say I'm that hopeful.

General Help & How-To / Sending error. Check your mail settings.
« on: July 26, 2016, 11:47:20 am »
Within the last month I've noticed that ListMail no longer shows me the progress of outgoing mail when hitting the "Send Now" button. I have a little over 30,000 subscribers but have been using ListMail for years with no issues. While it appears to be sending with success, I'm puzzled as to why it stays on the "Send Mail" screen now when sending. I've sent 3 email campaigns with this happening and then today I got an error I've never seen before. To my knowledge, no changes were made to the ListMail config or server (other than the normal cPanel updates).

The  text of the error is below (the 'x' is showing redacted):

Sending error. Check your mail settings.

Server said:
RCPT TO: <xxxx@xxxxxmusic.com>
250-SIZE 52428800
250-8BITMIME
250-PIPELINING
250-AUTH PLAIN LOGIN
250-STARTTLS
250 HELP
250 OK

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Michael

I'm trying to hook ListmailPro into Magento's email Newsletter option (to replace it) and only one field in the lm_users table alludes me: the UID field. Can someone please tell me what the correlation is to the 7 digit random string created and how it ties into the rest of the application? Can I populate that with my own User ID as it correlates to Magento's customer database?

Thank you!

Michael

This worked for me! Thank you!

We've been using ListMail Pro for over 10 years now. A discussion has recently come up within our very small company: What kinds of reporting can we get from ListMail Pro that is also provided by services like Mail Chimp and Constant Contact? Since we use Google Analytics to track clicks for each campaign, we can see how well a campaign does. However, one place where ListMail Pro is severely lacking is in reporting of subscribes, unsubscribes, and bounces. I understand that this data is recorded in the system, however I have not found a way to access it so I can put together my weekly reports.

It would be so nice if we could run reports that show:

1. Number of subscribers from month/day/year, to month/day/year or since last campaign
2. Number of un-subscribers from month/day/year, to month/day/year or since last campaign
3. Number of bounced emails from month/day/year, to month/day/year or since last campaign

There are other features that would be nice, of course to bring ListMail up to par in many ways with the two aforementioned email services, but this feature would be a HUGE addition as the rest of the stats can be handled by Google Analytics.

Thank you,

Michael
