General Help & How-To / Search for invalid email addresses

Hi,

Trying to export a list from LMP and the reveiving application won't complete as it says there is at least one invalide email address in the csv file. Does anyone know how to search for invalid email addresses?  I know LMP does it when you import, so it must have the facility to do it somewhere . . .?

Any urgent greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Can someone explain how an email address like this:

9366@realhealth-online.com   (my emaail is lynda@realhealth-online.com)

can get onto a List 0 - I don't have a list 0!! in listmail and then send me our outgoing mailing to me at that address??  Completely baffled.

General Help & How-To / Paid server support

Hi Dean,

I submitted a paid server analysis report request some days ago. Haven't heard from you. It's really urgent. All mailings are being blocked by a 'can't find server' message since Nov 18. Affecting our business ssriously.

The  message is:

Warning: fsockopen () [function.fsockopen]:unable to connect to smtp.att.yahoo.com:465 in /homepages/31/d38462904/htdocs/mail/editconf.php on line 1907

Could not find server!

The  SMTP is not configured correctly. check your settings.

Have spoken with new ISP (have just moved to the States)  AT&T who block all ports except their own. Have changed outgoing SMTP to their settings, but it needs SSL - can't see anywhere in the config panel on Listmail where I can input SSL validation data?  Still get samw message with the att server.

Have also spoken to our website hosts and they have done their best, but still blocked.

Please respond asap. Cannot send out our Christmas promotions which are critical to our business.

Don't know what to do next?  Use the php sending method?  How do I do that?

General Help & How-To / we've been hacked - urgent question

Hi,

All the index.html and index.php files in our server have been hacked, down to 5 or 6 levels of subfolders.  i'm now in the midst of cleaning them.  I have found this code in a folder called /attach under th emain mail folder on teh server.  Is "attch" a genuine Lismail pro folder or has th ehacker inserted this?  I've been removing all teh biztraff links from all the index files it's in but I'm not sure about all teh german stuff below . . . #


Thanks for any quick responses - Google have marked us as an 'attack site' because of all this :( - so trying to get it all clean asap.

Hi All,

I stopped a follow-up going out (after 500 of 3000 had goneout) as it needed some link corrections - hadn't finished the edit and forgot followups are automatic not like a 'send email'!

I edited it and re-saved it and naively (stupidly! :)  thought it would then re-send like a 'send email'. Of course it didn't, so I edited it again and 'reset all users to current delay' of 0. but it still hasn't been requeued/resent.

How can I resend an edited follow up - delete it and re-add it?  I hope not!

Hi All,

I have a follow-up series of email newletters, with a left hand column with a changing training date in it. Can I use a message code to automatically change this date in ALL the follow ups in the series. i.e. if I set up a custom code with the date 27&28 Sept in it now, and if I then in a few weeks change the code to Dec 16 & 17, will all instances of this custom date code change in the whole follow-up series?  I really hope so.. If not is there another way (template?) of updating the whole follow-up series at once?

Also - pleeeeeeeeeeeese pleeeeeeeeeeeese (Dean) can we have a WSIWYG editor. I compose follow-ups in Netscape composer but there are always glitsches between composer and LMP code and I end up going cross-eyed trying to edit the code in that tinnnnnnyyyyy  html edit pane in LMP.

Development, Suggestions / It's too easy to send to removed users!

Hi Dean,

We have just sent out a ListMail mailing to a selection of our lists (3000+ people). And now have a number of people very angry with us, as we have removed them in the past and they have received our recent email nonetheless.!!

When I do a search for their names I get "0 results for <email>"

When they use our unsubscribe link to remove themselves, they get this message :

"Hello - I received an email from your website and clicked on the  
unsubscribe button. I got a message back which said 'you are not on  
our database. This mistake should never happen. Please contact the  
administrator on the website for manual removal'. .

 . .  which I cannot do as I cannot find them on the database!!

One of them is now starting legal proceedings against us with the data protection/ROI/CanSpam authorities and is extremely angry.  I do not know what to do or say as I cannot find these people on any of our lists!!

Help!
 
I would appreciate your immediate help as I have asked the person about to embark on litigation to hold fire whilst we hear back from you.

General Help & How-To / Bad password entered

Hi,

I've just had six emails from Listmail saying someone (not me this time! :) has entered a bad password in the login page. Some of the various passwords are the first name and last name of a recent purchaser of products from our website (brenda@farm; pasternaks@rogers.com; brenda) . Others ('chester' "") are random. they are all from IP Address: 99.245.156.44 (CPE005004228139-CM001404598226.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com) It's still happening as I type.

Is this a hacker and how do I find out where they are getting our login from?

Hi,

Just tried to get into Listmail and my password was rejected - 7 times!?  Is it possible that someone could have hacked in and changed it?  How do I reset the password and protect it. I've a big mailing waiiting to go!

Development, Suggestions / saving multiple edited records at once

Hi,

Cleaning up our various lists - is there a way to:

1  edit several records on the page and save them all at once, instead of one by one (if not there needs to be ! :)  - like a tick box for each record to be saved or something?

2   when looking at an individual record, to add them to further lists and save  each one without obliterating the original subscription. When I change the list subscribed to in the edit user screen of someone, it just replaces the original list they are subscribed to.

works on my webpage, but when I import the code into listmail for an html email, it doesn't work in the email preview.  will it work in the real email or  just not work at all?  I need to get this s.. .. . . g email out!  Been working on it all day :(

Hi,

We have one open list and (only) IF the person there is UK based I'd like to add them to another closed mailing list, and maybe another depending on their purchase history. Is there a way to refine the 'if user added to this list, add them also to list x and list y' command with an 'if rule' like this based on country?  I'm no php expert by the way! :)

General Help & How-To / Overwrote list when adding new names - help!!

Hi,

Just imported a whole bunch of additional names to one of my lists and chose the 'overwrite' option. I assumed this would just overwrite any duplicates and leave any original ones that were there on the list. Have I misunderstood this command?  It seems to have deleted all my original list and set every one to follow up sequence 1 delay 0 . . . . HELP!!!

Development, Suggestions / [Bug] Save List button dead in Netscape 7.2?

Hi,

I have 24 lists and just created a new one, or tried to - but when I press 'save list' the button appears to be dead - nothing happens and list is not saved!  Have I exceeded a list quota or something? How can I resucitate my save list function?   :?
