I have upgraded to the latest version to make sure that wasn't the issue.

The story:

I want to send links in my email sending my readers to amazon to affiliate links.

Amazon provides me with the following link:

Quote
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&tag=gwill23-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&path=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fproduct%2F0609609491%2Fsr%3D8-1%2Fqid%3D1142376587%2Fref%3Dpd_bbs_1%3F%255Fencoding%3DUTF8

I enter it into the link tracking and test it and it works great.

I put the !link_xxx in an email and I get the following link in the email.
Quote
http://www.residualenterprises.com/mail/link.php?id=86eb3f9omm

when I click on this link or cut and paste it into a browser it takes me to the error page on amazon.  My other simpler links work just fine.

Example:

Quote
http://www.goodpoliticsradio.com

email gets:

Quote
http://www.residualenterprises.com/mail/link.php?id=86eb3f9gpr

This one works fine.

General Help & How-To / sending my newsletter from my bounce address?
« on: October 01, 2004, 12:49:13 am »
OK quick question if I were to send out my newsletter from my bounce@ address could this cause any problems?

What I was thinking it would do is remove anyone who sends automatic responses back to me.  With 100k+ emails on my list this can be very bad.

Any ideas on doing this?

Side note I am using Qmail and Plesk....not sure it makes a difference but it might.

General Help & How-To / hosting for listmailpro
« on: September 02, 2004, 09:55:50 am »
I just about have all the bugs worked out of my new dedicated server.  My question to all the customers of ListMail Pro is how many would be interested in hosting your list on my new server.

I don't know how much it would cost but I thought if we could setup a listmailpro dedicated server we could all just host on that server.  I could manage it.  It might be a win win for all.

If you are inerested post here and let me know how big your list is and how big you plan to get it over the next year or so.  We can work out the details later.

« on: September 01, 2004, 10:30:44 pm »
Now that I have my own dedicated server I am faced with setting it all up.  I think I am having some issues due to cgi and perl not working right.  Can anyone tell me what perl modules should be installed on a server normally or even better for LM to work.

Customization, Integration / signup email format question
« on: August 29, 2004, 08:29:07 pm »
I have a cgi program that runs when people signup in my program.  It automatically sends out email to the person who signed them up as well as the person signing up.

What format is listmail looking for so that I can send the email, first and last name, and phone number to Listmail via the cgi script.

I really just need to know how the system parces up the email to find the information.  Then I can put it all in the right spot.  That is not a problem.

General Help & How-To / Cannot find page when editing a user
« on: August 23, 2004, 09:33:25 pm »
When I try to edit a user in my list it goes to the following link and I get a page cannot be found error.

http://www.opportunityone.net/mail/edituser.php?list=1&pgnum=1&uedit=1&id=69208&sby=dadd&sord=desc&cnf=1&dosearch=1&txtsfor=ahobgood@tctc.edu

Any ideas.  I believe it has something to do with me migrating everything over to a new server.  I migrated all the tables using SQL dump files so not to loose data except the lm_user file that I was unable to dump.  I had to export them to a csv file and import then back in manually through listmail pro.

Server Optimization, Tweaks / Mailing list 100,000 and up
« on: August 20, 2004, 10:00:12 am »
I have a large mailing list.  The hosting company I am using is mad because I was using a shared server and the bounce.cgi script was crashing the server.  I guess I get too many bounces.  Stinking free email companies.

Anyway I am working on a solution.  Any help from anyone having similar problems your advise would be appreciated.

I believe this is why my dailymail is stopping every 5-10k messages or so.

just post a reply to this post with this is me and that way you will be notified any time I update this post.  I'll will let everyone know what is going on.

Customization, Integration / Hosting Company
« on: August 19, 2004, 12:57:17 pm »
Host 4 Profit is asking me to move to a dedicated server due to the size of my list.  I don't know if they are the best choice and I don't think for over $150 I should jump into this.

Any ideas who is a good hosting server for email lists as large as mine?

We have restarted the conversation on this one.  Seems to still be an issue with the install you did for me.  At least partly anyway.

Customization, Integration / Number of members
« on: August 16, 2004, 08:28:49 am »
I would like to report the number of subscribers to my newsletter on my website.  Is there a dynamic way to get this number?  I know it appears on the user database page, but I want it to show up on the page where I sell ad space.

General Help & How-To / import Errors
« on: May 07, 2004, 09:10:43 am »
I imported everything just fine.  HOwever I realize now that I should have imported my 160+ thousand members in slowly 5000 to 10000 per day.  Is there a way to only advance a subset of the people in my database or do I need to start over?

General Help & How-To / dailymail not working
« on: May 03, 2004, 08:24:39 am »
This is a copy of the email I sent to my hosting company.  I can't seem to get it working automatically.

*****
It is indeed set up to run every night at midnight.  The problem is that the script is not set up to run from the unix shell.  I could write a cronjob for it to run in a web session, but it asks for a log in when going to that web page.

What does the documentation for this software say as far as making it run automatically?  It needs to run in a web session and it also has to authenticate with a username and password.
