Hi,

What is amemberpro?  Email url address would be
helpful, is it useful???  Does it setup subscribers?

Sounds interesting.

Never mind just Googled it, sounds great, here's the URL:
http://membership.cgi-central.net/scripts/amember/
Thanks,

Hi Alice,

I had a quick look at A Member Pro, it sure looks great,
just wondering if you have any feedback on how it's
working for you with the integration with ListMailPro?

Was it easy to integrate, what are the main benefits?

Can I run a Subscriber list through ListMailPro that
is by paid subscription only?   How good is it at
handling the Unsubscribes correctly?
Thanks,
-Brett

Hi Webshaman sorry for the late reply. Listmail pro is dead simple to integrate into amember pro - you need to purchase amember's listmailpro plugin, upload that into the plugin folder and then simply activate it through amember cpanel.

For us, anyone who has a paid subscription will be automatically added to the a CMS as well as ListMail upon signup. The biggest reason why we went with Listmail pro was we already had amember pro but we didn't want to have to keep exporting the list of users since users subscribe and unsubscribe anytime. This has saved us lots of time.

We really haven't had problems with the unsub and subscribing of members. amember seems to handle that pretty well. When a user unsubscribes, the user will be marked as inactive by amember and amember will 'connect' with our CMS and Listmail to make updates.

Hi Alice,

Wow, Amember sounds great, can you please tell me a little more about this quote:

What do mean by 'connect' with LMP?  Do you mean whenever a member of Amember unsubs or turns off their payed subscription that they will automatically be removed from a certain list in LMP?  Can they also be added to another list at that time?  For example I would like if someone unsubs that they are removed from paid and added to a followup list to try to get them interested in purchase again, is that possible?

How well does Amember do with people trying to share usernames/passwords, have you had any problem with that?
Thanks,
-Brett

Ashop Pro is nice! I installed the demo very nice and I think much slicker, better features than aMember Pro but the down side your server has to have PHP installed as Apache module - both my hosts have it as CGI and will not budge :(

WebShaman,

That's exactly what I'm saying! :D I guess what amember does is it changes your LMP user tables.

There is only a global setting to do that. Here's what it does. To subscribe users, you do it at the product level. So upon subscription, the users of product one will automatically be subscribed to the list of your choice. However when they unsubscribe, you can set a user to be added/moved to only one list. So all unsubsribed users are on one list or none. Should be sufficient I think.

We don't really enforce that because of the nature of our site - business coaching - this is very personal and contains sensitive information about their businesses users might not want to be shared or leaked out to competitors so if they share it they're really shooting themselves in the foot. However amember just released an update yesterday that is supposed to have better control sharing of subscription.

BTW, it's my fault my name is Lynette. Alice is my partner LOL there's username sharing for you!

Hi Lynette,

Great, it really sounds like a winner and one I will consider when setting up memberships

Thanks again...
